Robert Filliou - Sings the Marquis De Sade CS
The young and the young at heart are all gravitating towards the conceptual prankster, “anti-craft” sound of fluxus. Filliou was a very silly man who sang some excerpts from De-Sade, which parallels the rest of the artists cannon. If you’re interested in the stripped down, unprocessed sound culture of artists, or some kinda art gallery edition what ever, then this is a great cassette for you. Theres a current flash of interest in this kind of thing, which I think may eventually just plop into some kinda antiquarian boys club, but such is the way of so many things. So don’t let that spoil this little piece of history! Its the odd man out as far as the goaty catalog is concerned, but Zully has a good grip on what he wants out of the label and it feels right to me. As with all goaty tapes, the layout is very pretty and if you dig marbled paper (like I do) then you will for sure stare at this thing high up in a place of honor.
